What a fraud.  Nice speech to the Judge today too you liar.  You don't care about layoffs and the tunnel.  If you did, you would not have wasted millions of the taxpayers money previously with your nonsense.

I said on the air last year that I thought Fernando Rodney sucked.  I said it.  I wasn't trying to be funny or be a wise guy, I meant it.  I have watched this dude pitch for six years and I have never liked him.  I remember Randy Smith telling me a long time ago:  "Wait until you see Fernando Rodney".  Oh I have seen him and Tigs fans have seen enough.

Rodney is a typical Dave Dombrowski hard-throwing blockhead.  He over-throws, he is wild, and when the big lights come on.. he cannot handle the pressure.  Yet, in a pennant race, the Detroit Tigers hand this guy the closer job?  How come I know that this guy cannot do itm yet they don't?  Remember the 2006 World Series?  Rodney imploded and was one of the reasons the Tigers lost.  4 innings pitched, he gave up 4 runs and committed a huge error. 

Yesterday should be the end for Fernando Rodney.  This is not some young arm that may come around, he is 31.  Don't just remove him from the closer's role, try and deal him before the waiver-trade deadline or send him to the 15 day DL and keep him there.  There are plenty of stupid GM's who will take a chance on him.  Find one.

Just got back from vegas early this morning after taking a few days off.  There were times during the weekend when I wondered why I live here and not in a place like Las Vegas.  Then there were moments I could not wait to come home.  It is hilarious that the idiots running Detroit actually think that the three casinos here can be at all compared to Vegas.  Give me a break.  Vegas is a lot of fun and has it all and people walk the strip and do it with a smile on their face.  Plus, the Mayor of Vegas doesn't slug cops and lie under oath.  I put $10 dollars down on the New Orleans Hornets at 15-1 odds to win the NBA title next season.  Just felt like it.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  A few things on my mind:

1.  How is Art Bell going into the Radio Hall of Fame and Howard Stern isn't?

2.  Good to see it took the Tigers four days to figure out how to pitch Orioles journeyman OF Luke Scott.  My god.  Pathetic.

3.  I have stopped reading the local papers because I am so sick and tired of the Tiger Stadium columns.  ENOUGH ALREADY!  The place closed in 1999!!!  1999!!!  I don't care that some slapdick from Waterford drives down there every day to marvel at it... I don't.  What should be written is how the city of Detroit has done nothing with that Corktown area and so the place sits there like an eye sore.  Do you know what they are doing with Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium?  They are demolishing them because New York is a real city with real leadership.  Just like Pittsburgh (Three Rivers Stadium) and Cleveland (Municipal Stadium).

4.  I am endorsing a new sponsor starting today on WDFN.  It is actually an existing sponor and I am so excited to be a part of the Bill Brown Ford Family.  Props to Mike Schrieber and Tom Smith and the crew.

5.  Shani Inge better be careful because Rod Allen has a crush on her husband.  Rod must have broken up with Marcus Thames.

So I am flipping around the Tv today and it stopped on Fox News Channel (which I would never watch) and I noticed this really attractive woman on the Election HQ show.  I had to look her up and here she is.. Julie Banderas.  Very impressive on all fronts and does a really good job too on air. 
Now I am back watching Brendan Harris torment the Tigers.

1.  CC era is over in Cleveland.  I guess I am sad but I also knew it was coming.  Guy turns down 4 yrs at 72 million from the team that he "loves and grew up with".  Peace.

2.  There is nothing on TV tonight.  Nada.

3.  CC is going to sign with the Yankees and he will not be worth what they pay him.  He was easily the best pitcher the Tribe has had in my 35 years of living, but, if that fat man shows up in the ALCS at all last year.. I have a ring.  I don't.

4.  I tried to tell all of you during last off-season's Tiger Pep Rally that the Renteria trade was a bad one.  Many of you did not listen.

5.  NBA Free agency has been an all-out snore.  I think league GM's realize that these guys are not very good players, heck, 70 percent of the players can't shoot an open 15 footer and make it.

6.  Somebody in college basketball is gonna scoop up Kevin Mondro and get one heck of a coach; I just know it.

7.  I am heading down to Comerica Park tomorrow night to cover Tigers and Tribe and I am actually dreading it.  I don't like that place to begin with and now my team blows.  Ugh.  Cannot complain, though, there are worse jobs than that one.

8.  I like the Lions new commercials.  Don't know why, but they make me laugh.
